No pun intended in the title. But I've always wondered; and with deep character analysis going on I thought it was a great time to ask; but of the 4 guys, who's the alfa male , beta etc.? I have bounced between Egon and Peter for years. They both have strengths that lend to alfas and weaknesses that l think puts them out. Can there be 2 Alfas in a group if they have supporting strengths? |

Depends what definitions of the terms you're using. Do you mean alpha, beta as in the personality types, or as used by meatheads and evo-psych "experts"? |

Peter has more of a leadership-type personality, he sees people who come to the firehouse, he's the one that the cameras focus on. However, Egon is the smart one, he provides the tech and the information and a lot of the strategy, and he displays leadership qualities as well, though not as obviously as Peter. The two are both leaders in my opinion; neither is more "Alpha" than the other, and they never fight for the command of the team in a situation. They know when situations call for the strengths of the other, and they graciously allow the other to take charge. So really, they're co-leaders. |
